Dr. Stilwell is a licensed psychologist in New York and New Jersey. She obtained her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology from William James College in 2015 and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University in 2010.
Dr. Stilwell specializes in forensic and clinical evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Stilwell provides evaluations in several areas including: mental health and cognitive evaluations, risk assessments (child abuse and neglect, violence, substance abuse, sexual offending, and domestic violence), parental capacity/fitness evaluations, termination of parental rights, child custody, competency to stand trial (juvenile and adult), diminished capacity, not guilty by reason of insanity (NGRI), guardianship, and independent medical examinations. Dr. Stilwell testifies as an expert witness in New Jersey Superior Court and provides consultant for the Department of Child Protection and Permanency, the Office of the Law Guardian, the Office of the Public Defender, and private attorneys.
Prior to joining WEPC, Dr. Stilwell completed her APA accredited internship at Mt. Sinai Services/Elmhurst Hospital Center where she received training on the forensic inpatient, adolescent inpatient, comprehensive psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory behavioral health, and psychological testing and assessment rotations. Dr. Stilwell previously worked for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, Cambridge Health Alliance, the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Tufts Medical School, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Dr. Stilwell maintains a clinical practice providing individual, couples, and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults.
